About City of Peterborough Concert Band

Established in 1987 the City of Peterborough Concert Band is a group of 30+ friendly, amateur musicians who meet weekly to play music chosen from our extensive music library. This includes a wide repertoire of music to from classical, musical theatre, film & TV through to popular music scores.

The band has a busy concert diary with invitations to perform concerts in the Peterborough and surrounding area throughout the year. These include charity fundraising events, outdoor summer performances at local parks & bandstands in the area and Christmas concerts. We come together on occasion to rehearse and perform with other Concert Bands and local Choirs.

Our conductor is Henry Clydesdale, an experienced lifelong musician.

As a concert band we welcome all adult musicians who play Woodwind, Brass and Percussion instruments. Membership is open to everyone but in particular we have vacancies for trumpet, tuba, French horn and percussion players. All Brass & Woodwind players provide their own instruments, but the band does have a selection of percussion instruments available.

There is no audition to join but we do guide that a standard of grade 5 and being able to sight read music is advisable.

So, if you are a local musician and ready to join an enthusiastic and welcoming group of musicians or an organisation who would like to book the band for a concert  please do get in touch.
